Zekveld’s Garden Market is family owned and operated. In the Fall of 2000, we (John and Maxine Zekveld) acquired 94 acres of property ½ km. from Reece’s Corners on London Line. Eighty five acres of the property are devoted to crops. Apples, plums, peaches, nectarines, and pears grow on twenty two acres. Berries occupy ten acres, and the remainder of the property produces a wide variety of vegetables. All our crops are hand picked and delivered fresh to our on-farm store and farmers markets. In 2005 we opened a small on-farm bakery where we use the fruits from our fields in loaves, tarts, muffins and more. About that time we also started going to a local campground to sell fresh fruits and vegetables on Saturday mornings. In 2009 we were one of the first farmers to join the Petrolia Farmer's Market at the Fairgrounds and we still participate at the Petrolia Farmer’s Market from June to Thanksgiving. We also began making preserves using our extra fruits from our fields 2005 - Added our bakery where we use the fruits from our fields in loaves, tarts, muffins and more.
